Even if they see the BETTER THINGS on the other side?

It is defined by the human instinct of the "comfort zone". In a very primitive metaphorical way of explaining it, if you're hungry and thirsty and you find bread and water you go for it, then later you're hungry and thirsty again so you seek the same path and find the water and the bread, after few times you're accustomed to that routine and you feel comfortable with that because you know that the bread and the water is there for you so you fear (or feel unnecessary) to conquer something new.
It's a somewhat long answer but i think you get the idea of what i mean. Basically it's psychological to feel comfortable in a place and not want to change to another one even if you know that it's better for you.
Does that make any sense at all?! I hope so....:)

People don't like change even if it is better for them. People are set in their ways because of many different reasons. One is because they where raised that way,because of habits, or just because of the people they hang around.

People can change, but only if they want to. The status quo has to become less tolerable than the effort required to change. Psychotherapy can help.

They are stuck in a rut or they are afraid of taking risks. Maybe they, like myself, have had too many disappointments every time we have tried to change our lives
