Good question! Why don't child abuse laws seem to apply either? Especially since so many of these child actors/ entertainers grow up to be completely screwed up adults. I think most of this child acting/ singing / modeling garbage is complete child exploitation. Especially when it comes to little girls. The fat, perverted men who run the entertainment industry need to be stopped from abusing children.

Yes they do. Children at a certain age are only allowed to act for a certain amount of time. That's why when there are infants or young children with major roles in movies and TV, twins are usually casted so that more work can be done. Children are also supposed to have a certain amount of break time and lunch time.

Oh they do--and there are very strict guidelines including hours children can work, breaks, school must be provided on location certain number of hours per day. Even what a child can and cannot do and what they can observe being filmed is restricted. It's a very governed industry.

They do. There's plenty of rules and regulations studios have to follow when using children. Like they can only work X amount of hours per day ( I think about 2 or 3) which is why idential twins are popular to use (like Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen when they were in Full House)

Child abuse is punishable in every field inclusive of acting and all forms of entertainment.
If children are treated the way they should be treated they can follow their hobbies, fine arts and other pursuits of their choice.

Most likely they are under contract that is signed by their parent or guardian. I think it also has to do with where/ when they are filming. And the fact that they are "home" schooled while on set, changes their work availability.

They in fact do apply, thats why babies in movies often have to have doubles(full house) and can't work as long hours.
