From the age of 3-10 I took dance classes durring the school year. I was never really interested in it and never practiced. Because of that I was much worse then the other dancers which made me hate it even more. But now at age 14, I'm really interested in it and I want to start again. But since I haven't danced for 4 years, I'll still be behind the other dancers. Do you think I should still rejoin? I'm really nervous about this.

Definitely. Learn anything you can at your age. It will benefit you later on in life. I mean, I'd hate to sound like an old geezer, but it's true. The more you talented you are, the more people see you in a different light. I wish I could have taken singing or even piano lessons back then.

I think if you really want to do it you should. It doesn't matter if you are behind you will catch up to them in no time if you try. You will have to try your hardest, but i think that if you have already danced for all those other years you should be fine. I would recommend practicing though it will make you a lot better and you could get better than all the other kids. I didn't start dance till i was 14 but i stayed caught up i had to try extra hard but it was so worth it i am a much better dancer and i have learned a lot in just a little bit of time. I hope you keep dancing.

You should totally do it. Do you want to live with regrets? Im 39, I danced from 4th grade to 6th grade. I really liked it, even though I was kinda long and lankey and a little clumsy. It was fun-Im going to put together some tap shoes and get dancing again! Take a beginning class and see if its what you want to do again. Maybe you can take a different type of dance? Either way, you have years of experience and I think you would be able to catch up quickly to the other girls.

You should. You may have to work your way back up but as long as you are determined, commited, and work hard it will pay off. I started ballet for the first time at 14 and by the next year I had moved up to advanced..I just practiced every day and if I didn't get something I did like a thosand times til it was perfect. so go for it and have fun!

If its something that you absolutely want to do then go for it! Don't let what the other dancers think off you bring you down!

Why not visit some dance studios and observe the classes to see if you think you will fit in? That might help you decide.

If it is in your heart, I think you should at least try.
