Most missed the point, why with the same diet do horses cope with grass so well, and can have the energy to run fast when we are told that it is really difficult for cows?

Well, Norman, I don't know that you are actually correct. Before we started getting rain, our grass was almost gone. Our mares looked a lot thinner than our cows did. I've heard that horses have one of the least efficient digestive systems. Perhaps the bovine species' four stomachs are actually more efficient than the equine stomach. I see our cows laying down resting a lot more than I see our horses not grazing.

Cows Have Four Stomachs, And It's Because That They Need Longer To Digest Grass And It Goes Through Various Levels Of Digestion Before The Cows Body Can Digest It's Food To Use it For It's Bodily Fuel.

Cows have 4 stomachs. Horses only have 1.

The reason: they eat plants. Plant cells, especially the cell walls made of cellulose, are very hard to digest. Horses are not very efficient digesters of the things they eat, so they have to eat a lot to survive. However, their stomachs can only cope with the amount they eat. They canot digest the food efficiently, even with bactria in there to promote digestion.

Cows have 4 stomachs, each with a different purpose

1. processing food by mechanical breakdown.

2. storing food, and where the helpful bacteria start breaking down the food. The animal then slowly releases some of it back to the mouth, and it soon chews the cud. Food will then go back to the 1st and 2nd stomachs

3. chemical breakdown.

4. final mechanical and chemical digestion, then into the intestine

Finally, this is why in the wild, there are very few wild horses and their relatives. The better-adapted cow relatives have taken over much of their range.

Yes. If you go to horse shows you'll often see a goat in the horses stall with it. It helps keep the horse calm to have a 'friend' from home and the goats are small enough to share a stall. The only problem may be with feeding. Horses digestive systems are not as forgiving as the other three, which all have a multiple stomach system, so hay and feed that is okay for cows, goats, and sheep may cause colic and other digestive troubles in the horse.

Cows do have four. They need four because they need to rechew it again and again before finally digesting it once and for all. They may have evolved to have four because they a herds of inert animals, grazing peacefully without panic. So, four stomachs just ensure that they do digest their food properly, anyway there's still no need to run like a horse.

That may explain why horses, which are animals that are quite active, have less stomach. That's because horses are always in a hurry and don't have the time to let food go through to many stomachs. THEY NEED FAST ENERGY!!

Cows actually have four stomachs, and I believe even horses have two. The reason is that their stomach acids are very weak, so they need a lot longer to break down the plant material they eat. This is also the reason cows are much more likely to get mad cow disease than humans; our stomach acids are stronger and more likely to break down the prion molecules.

The cow uses its multiple stomach to digest large quantities of grass etc.
Because the horse does not have so many, it produces far more dung than the cow, whose body uses the food more efficiently

I had hemorrhoids problems for different years. I was basically simply excessively embarrassed to go to a doctor or to the pharmacy to request a hemorrhoid treatment. At last I went to a doctor that tried to do everything in her power to help me, yet unfortunately the prescription didn't work. Surgery was impossible! By then, I was powerless, embarrassed and with just about no social life, so I've chosen to try something else. Then I discovered this method: http://treathemorrhoid.kyma.info I purchased this book on the most proficient method to dispose of hemorrhoids naturally notice it helped me a great deal! I don't feel torment anymore! I wish I had it years before. I can't accept how rapidly I got relief (just about overnight!) they've never returned and I don't worry about it anymore in light of the fact that on the off chance that they do, I know precisely what to do. After reading the book and making a move in 48 hours the ache, irritation, tingling and draining was gone. To my surprise I could permanently cure my hemorrhoids 100% naturally. Hemorrhoids are fundamentally engorged veins. The veins return the blood to the heart and those from the lower parts of the body work against gravity to push blood again to the heart. At the point when the blood becomes thicker because of one's absence of water admission, the blood gets pooled in the veins in light of the fact that blood is more hard to stream. This makes them get engorged and become bigger. On the off chance that this happens in the rectal area, it becomes hemorrhoids. I can assure you that I tackled my hemorroids problems with this system: http://treathemorrhoid.kyma.info It's definitly the most ideal approach to effectively dispose of hemorreoids.

cows have 4 stomach because the cellulose in the grass they eat is very hard to digest hence in each stomach a new process is taking place to break down the cellulose
