Why do some people find it appropriate to add "lol" after every sentence they write, even if what they're writing isn't even intended to be humorous?

yeah some people do this. Me, I only do it if something really is funny. Maybe those people have low self esteem and want to hide between lols to make people think they're having a good time.

I do it too but mainly cuz i feel stupid after writing something stupid so i add lol

because most folks have become so freaking lazy in their communicating that they will use any abbreviation to make chatting easier.
