I don't want to be with anyone the rest of my life. That's a long time. If two people love each other today, they may not in a week, a month, a year or a decade. I am quite content to be alone. As a matter of fact, I need that when I write books and paint pictures. Some girls don't like that, but they can move on. I'll be writing and painting long after I've forgotten any given girl.

There are a lot of people I don't love but could be very happy living with. As long as I was free to find love.
Freinds with benefits I can live with.
But if you mean trapped in a relationship with someone I dislike I would rather be alone.
I have lived alone for the past ten years but have never been lonely. I can do this for the rest of my life if need be.
I do have plans for the weekend.
I won't be alone but I won't be home either.

I agree with looksadpaper. I finally figured this out after being lonely in an unhappy marriage for years. I would rather be alone then with someone who I do not love and can't stand to be around anymore. It was the emptiest feeling in the world to not have the courage to leave. If you love someone and can't be with them though that is even worse. I was perfectly happy being on my own since leaving my marriage enjoying my freedom but now accidentally fell in love with someone who I can not be with.

I'd rather be alone than live a lie. A person can have a fulfilling life if they are true to themselves; a sham relationship because you're too scared or insecure to be alone would be the emptiest feeling I could imagine.

I'd rather be alone than be unhappy with someone I didn't love....I love everyone though, so this question is unfair to me. If you're speaking in terms of relationship love, then I'd rather be by myself...

I think personally No one is preferable to an empty relationship, but I also know a lonely person will be tempted to fill that void any way they can.

Well being with some one dosen't mean you are not alone..so if i am not in love with the person i would just rather be by myself.
