Your nails?? Silly habit, but my husband can't help it. Any Ideas on how to stop him?

I never do. But you cawn either spank your husband, or apply something bitter on his nails when he is not looking. LOL Then he would get a nasty shock when he bites it..LOL

Gosh i bite my nails all the time, thanks god girls can wear fake ones! I would say, that for a guy to stop its real self control. He should try but vicks vapor rub, or gross tasting things. Because most of the time nail bitting is sub-conscious so when he realizes he is, he will want to stop. Also if he really wants put band-aids on all of his fingers. If he is a picker that may help. Some people find keeping their hands busy, holding a penny in a hand.
People before they bite look their nails over, either palm up, or finger flexed out. If you see your husbnad doing this tell him to stop. BUt he has to want to stop! good luck.

i used to bite my nails all of the time. i finally told myself that i would quit. i started carrying nail clippers and when i'd get the urge to bite, i'd clip instead. it has been 7 years since i last chewed on my nails. i find that i don't even clip out of habit anymore- only when it is necessary.

You can but a clear sort of top coat they make to put on your nails to prevent you from biting them, You put it on your nails just like you would nail polish (only its clear and it is not shiny at all) and when you go to bite them you get a REALLY nasty taste in your mouth! You can but it at any drug store.

All the time at school. There is just nothing better to do. I guess you can get some of that nail polish stuff that tastes really bad and put it on his fingers when he is sleeping.

this is a terrible habit i have too...unless i have something else in my mouth the fingers get bit.

Ask him if he washed his hands after he wiped. Or if he washed after handling money or touching things that other have touched. Does he ever wonder where those hands have been..or if they washed?? Ask him.
