The basic causes of your issue are either related to the fuel delivery system (fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel lines, fuel injectors) or the electrical (spark plugs, wires, distributor/ignition module, and related wires, plus different sensors). I'd explore those areas first, starting with the easy ones...plugs, wires, fuel filter. Then I'd see if there are any trouble codes related to a bad sensor of some sort. You'll need to have someone check this with a code reader. If in doubt, take it to a good mechanic for diagnosis.
