I love my name but my sister hates hers. She was named after our father. He wasn’t a good dad (cheap, mean, never there when we were growing up) and every time people ask her about her name she gets upset because it brings up bad memories. But she wouldn’t change it for the world. It is what makes her her. If she changes it, it will make her feel like she lost a piece of herself.

I wouldn't go as far as hate, that's a little strong, I will say I am not over keen on my name (Steve) as I always think its quite boring. I used to think I was named after Steve McQueen until my Mom blew that out the water when she told me I was named Steve because everyone else was naming there kids (male) Steve.

Mine is just overused. I think every other girl in the 70's was named Jennifer and it drives me nuts! Though I wouldn't want to be named Moon Star or Rainbow or something!

I have 2 friends who hate theres, There Surnames House, there dad though it would be funny to call his son Maxwell & his sister wendy. always get the mick taken out of them
