On the first day of the month there is one Lily pad in the pond, on the second day there is two and on the third there is four and so on doubling its self each day. On the last day of the month the pond is full of Lily's.

Well obviously if the lilly pads double every day and at the end of the month the pond was full the day before the end of the month the pond would be half full.

That depends on whether the last day of the month is the first day that the pond has been full lillies, it could have been full for some time. However, if this is the first day that the pond has been full of lillies then it would have been half full the previous day.

What month is it? How many days are there? if its February then there will be 28 (or possibly 29 if its a leap year) and in March there will be 31.
We do not know how big the pond is as after teh whole month the pond may be half full.
