While changing oil in my car, the plastic container cracked & split & spilled most of the oil on the out side concrete car port floor.
What is the best economical way to clean this oil stain from the concrete floor ?
Thank You.
Luke.

Cleaning Oil Off Concrete

Throw clean kitty litter on the oil stains. Then after the litter sets a bit, sweep it off the stain. You can use a powerwasher to remove the oil stains, using a detergent made for powerwashers. If you shop at Lowes or Home Depot, they may have something to use to remove oil stains also. The kitty litter does work pretty well.

Soak up what you can with some oil dry, rags, or paper towel. Use a solvent called Toluene to wash up whats left. You can get Toluene at your hardware store. Toluene is lighter than water so the concrete will need to be dry. After you use the Toluene to lift out the oil than you can spray it off with water.

Toluene is a flammable liquid and it will make you dizzy if you breath the fumes so be careful.

clay cat litter. Use your foot to scuff the litter into the concrete and get the oil out of it. Then sweep it up.

get an old toothbrush and some paint thinner. Pout the thinner on the stains and scrub just a a little. I gurantee it'll work.

Clothes detergent. It cuts grease. scrub it in with a brush and let it sit a while. Some auto stores have products also.
