are u really interested in it? would u want 2 be a clinician or theorist? personally, i think it would be great 2 work with crazy people and get paid for it... wait! i already do!

If it is something you are interested in, then yes it's a good career. Will you get as rich as Bill Gates doing it? Of course not. Keep in mind that going to grad school for a PhD is an extra 4-7 year commitment after getting your bachelor's. You also need to figure out what area you wish to pursue, since the jobs available (outside of academic jobs in whatever area that is) will differ. The range of possible salaries will also differ as a result. Consider whether you want to go into clinical, counseling, neuropsych, cognitive, social, psychometrics, industrial/organizational, etc.

just having a Ph.D. is not a career. you get the degree, you do something with it. You can be a clinical psychologist, a research psychologist, a professor in college, or whatever.
