I have seen waterspouts in the Gulf of Mexico. They were tornados and luckily we wern't very close to them. A water sprite is different. It's like a small tornado. I saw one and thought it was really cool until it got closer and I could see big drops of water spinning around like crazy. Hurt a little but it was still cool.
