Unfortunately it has been cancelled but you can fight back! Continue to watch, email the "Sci-fi" Channel, mail NBC and the "Sci-fi" channel, tell the producers you support them and get your friends to watch. You can likely search around on the internet and find the info you need.
Don't let the show die!

Much as I like Stargate SG1, I have to take issue with the comment that it's a "Guinness Book of Records" achievement. How so when the BBC's "Doctor Who" has been going for over 30 years with hundreds more episodes?
I do however think it's a shame that there will be no more SG1 even though the basic story lines are becoming a bit repetitive and far fetched these days.

SCI FI Channel confirmed that it will not renew its record-breaking original series Stargate SG-1 for another season, but will pick up its spinoff series Stargate Atlantis for a fourth year. SG-1 aired its 200th episode on Aug. 18, and the SF series is the longest-running SF show on American television.
SCI FI issued the following statement on Aug. 21: "SCI FI Channel is proud to be the network that brought Stargate SG-1 to its record-breaking 10th season. Ten seasons and 215 episodes is an astounding, Guinness World Record-setting accomplishment. Stargate is a worldwide phenomenon. Having achieved so much over the course of the past 10 years, SCI FI believes that the time is right to make this season their last on the channel. SCI FI is honored to have been part of the Stargate legacy for five years, and we look forward to continuing to explore the Stargate universe with our partners at MGM through a new season of Stargate Atlantis."

I keep reading this question, but I don't remember seeing it on their web site.
It's possible, however... since those episodes when Telc was kissing every white woman on the series and the producers got all that hate mail, they have been really reaching for new plots that don't rely on the shock value of Telc kissing the white leading ladies and rely on a real script... so... if it's going into the hopper after this season, it wouldn't surprise me.

It is canceled by the Sci-Fi channel, yes.
But according to Robert Cooper, executive producer, the show "will go on in some way".
I am holding my breathe for just how they are going to "macgyver" their way out of this one!
