The best thing you can do in this kind of situation is to talk to your coach and explain PRIVATELY what is going on. They cannot refuse letting you go to the restroom if you are starting your period. Also, NEVER wear a tampon unless you are ON your period! You don't want to end up with toxic shock syndrom (details inside every box of tampons). You are young and I understand how embarrassing this would be to start and not go to the restroom. This is why you need to inform the coach. This way they are prepared for it and you won't have to sit there begging and etc. during practice. If they know the problem, they cannot, by law, refuse to let you go to the restroom. If they refuse, sue them and the school. Best of luck and get yourself some Midol. That works best I've found.

You should talk to your mom about it all. Try panty liners they are smaller and much more comfortable than pads. Also keep in mind that usually your first period is quite light and quick. No need to stress, let it all happen naturally and just be prepared.

They can't stop you from going to the bathroom at any sport practice, or anything like that for that matter. I would wear a pad just in case, you'll feel it if you get it. mark it on a calendar. just tell your coach you need to use the restroom. once at practice i asked to go to the bathroom and my (male) coach wouldn't let me go until I told him why; i told him i had to change my tampon and he's never asked anyone why and just let them go since. ;)

Where a pantyliner this way you protect your clothing if it does come on and they have some over the counter pain relievers that may help you feel better, talk to your mom about it. Good luck and hope you feel better

I would wear a pad to the practice or sport you have to go to just in case it comes while you are practicing or playing.

wear a pantyliner everyday...that prevents a little...your coach will understand...it's not embarassing for others to know that you're already maturing...write a letter from your parents and give it to your coach to explain why you cant train properly since it might be your first time...
