The dumbest email hoax I ever saw besides some already mentioned (666, August 22, and forward this type stuff) was one of the many Nigerian scam emails I suddenly started receiving one day at my old account. One addressed me as if I were an elderly man instead of a young woman, and also went on to presume I would sympathize with white farmers forced off their land in Africa just coz I might be white, not coz it was people being forced off their land. It was a really rude, racist letter. If I would just tell this son of a dead farmer what my bank account information was, then I would be able to help him go to college and escape what his life had supposedly become. It was sad, but mean, coz I cringe to think of some elderly man suffering from dementia opening up that email and actually believing it....

That the Iranians would begin a nucear Armegeddon on August 22nd. The world has been dealing with end-times Christian loons for two millenia and they still haven't taken time to learn that St. John's Apocalypse was written to Christians of John's day, not of John Hagee's day.

As far as I'm concerned, the Dumbest as well as just down-right Disgusting to even think about was the one where a person asked others if they heard about Tom Cruise eating the Newborns Placenta as a practice of Scientology! " YUCK "!!!!! I find this VERY Hard to believe.

The dumbest one I have heard was before 6/6/06 (666).
People were worried that demons were going to be loosed to terrorize the world.
Some people were actually freaking out about it.

The one about 7 year old Amy Bruce having cancer (about 5 years ago)...and they told you AOL would donate 5 cents for every email you sent.
By the way, according to Emails still going around, Amy Bruce is STILL 7 YEARS OLD TODAY!
So, she didn't die of cancer but was cursed with never getting a year older...haha

Any of the ones that state they are tracking how many people you send it to and they will send you (or some poor sick child) money for every one. In order for them to track it from your computer they would have to be tapped into your email! and that would open too many doors for hackers if they actually could do this.

I get e-mails all the time commanding me to send this to "X" amount of people or something bad will happen.
Which I delete immediately. I do so hate to be threatened with my own computer.
