keep your head up, knees bent drive your shoulder into opponents waiste using the force from your legs.

NEVER! LOOK DOWN! you could really injure your neck, NEVER hit with top of helmet...only face.

D-Line is the best, needs to be aggressive, never go backwards always push forward.

As far as intemidation, I have 1 words of advise:

1) its not the dog in the fight, but the fight in the dog

watch old highlights from NFL Films...one that used to get me fired up before high school practice was "Big Blocks and King Size Hits,"

The more he plays, the more confidence he will gain. Work with him at home away from all the others, you can show him technique as opposed to brute force - which by the way is always a better way to play anyway. Line up against him yourself and show him that if he push against you, he can push against kids his own age! Also line up beside him - show him that you support his efforts. Encourage him and build his confidence.

Use the Bobby Boucher method....have him picture someone he really hates, like the school bully. Before you know it he will be firing over the top like Zach Taylor.

Get him one of those punching bags for at home so he can see how it actually feels to tackle. Later let him tackle you.
