no. messi sucks. ronaldinho will be the next maradona and shevchenko will be the next pele and zidane(even though hes retired) wil be the new george best.

nobody will ever be a Maradona. Maradona controlled the game. Messi will be the next great footballer but he will not be a Maradona two different players and two different times you cant compare this two like that.

definitely,since maradona himself said so and since messi is a great player!! but somehow,messi has more to prove before he can be like maradona..maradona is a legend..but i believe that messi can be like maradona if he continues to be at the top..he is a skillful player somehow..he can be more than that..but still,messi is himself and maradona is himself too..they are not the same though they come from the same country..

Messi will be Messi. I don't think he will have the same 'like god' impact Maradona has with the fans, that is a quality beyond football skills. Messi is more mellow than Maradona but I'm sure he will be one of football all-time finest and a huge idol in Argentina.

they have very diverse sorts, they're taking section in in diverse situations and thats that. per chance sometime Messi will be Messi yet he gained't be Maradona. Maradona did his time and Messi will do his. i imagine they're both tremendous participant yet there is not any evaluating. yet I do imagine Messi turns into unstoppable in some seasons or so =D

YES. Messi is crazy with it. CRAZY. I saw him play in NY and I couldn't believe my eyes. He's alot better than even his fans let on! Messi is the next Maradona, and Ronaldinho the next Pele. Although, I don't think either of them will ever be better than their elders.

Not if he plays so far forward for his whole career. He'll blow away Maradona's goal scoring marks but he won't have the control in the midfield to dominate a game and lead them to a World Cup Title.

No, Messi will be like Messi, there will never be another Maradona, there is only one Maradona, just like one Pele, one Beckenbauer, one Zidane, there's no such thing as "the next.....", (I hate that saying) every player is reknowned for being himself.
