My sunfire dome light will not come on when the dirver side door is opend does anyone know what the problem is?

try jiggling the door switch,,its the one on the side,,it may have gotten stuck on it,,this is normal for one to get stuck once in a while,,you can wiggle it around,,and it will work OK,,later on you might want to replace it,,if it keeps doing it,,they only cost about ,,8 bucks new,,and anyone can install one,,it only takes a few minutes to put one on..good luck with it,,i hope this helps.

The Pontiac's door jamb switch might be broken or in need of lubrication. If the door jamb switch doesn't move when the door is open then the light will not come on. Here is a photo of the Pontiac Sunfire door jamb switch: http://www.rockauto.com/ref/Airtex/Detail.html?1S1416.jpg

check the door switch

the bulb could be busted or the wiring could be messed up.. try unscrewing the lightbulb cover if possible, and check stuff out, see if it looks normal
