I recently bought a few crystals to "try it out". (Clear quartz, black tourmaline, angelite, and amethyst). Before I invest in more crystals, I would like to know more about this topic. Does anyone out there use crystals themselves and have knowledge to share? If so, that would be much appreciated.

I have heard stories on both sides of the issue: that is, some say it is a hoax, while others do not.

I would like to become more educated on this

Of course it's true! In fact, it's scientific fact that quartz crystal will hold information. That's why it is used *still* in modern electronic technology and in watches for timekeeping! For this reason many people in the new age and occult communities believe that crystals and stones (especially quartz) may actually hold information from the ancient past, such as Atlantis and Lemuria. (Another lost, ancient civilization.)

I don't know if you've ever heard of Kirlian photography, which can photograph the aura, but a college professor once invented a video version of Kirlian photography and was able to tell by their auras when students were going to get sick. One day a student was wearing a quartz crystal necklace. While she stood there they saw a whisp of white energy emanating from the quartz. When she moved or tried to touch it, it retracted back into the encasement of the quartz. If that response of pulling away doesn't imply consciousness of some kind, I'm not sure what does!

I believe that all stones contain this consciousness and are actually beings!

For this reason, and personal experience, I believe that plants (whose auras can also be photographed), and minerals all have souls and reincarnate -- although minerals have a nearly indefinetly life span so I wonder about them reincarnating simply because of their life span!

Here are some Kirlian photos you can view online of quartz crystals. These prove that stones DO emit energy and vibrations (technically everything in the universe is vibrating energy when you take it down to its absolute lowest level, so of course it vibrates!) and these photos prove it!:

I love crystals and stones. I wear a piece of blue lace agate at my throat chakra. I saw it in a guided meditation I did and blue lace agate is supposed to be a calming stone that is associated with communication.

I wear a chakra pendant that has a stone for each chakra (a great book on the chakra system is Eastern Body Western Mind by Anodea Judith) that is supposed to open the chakras. There is a piece of selenite for the crown chakra, amethyst for the brow chakra, turquoise for the throat chakra, malachite for the heart chakra, tigers' eye for the solar plexus chakra, carnelian for the sacral plexus, and garnet for the root chakra.

I keep a piece of agate on my keychain. (Banded agate) Plus I keep a collection in my purse of various stones should I need them for anything. Included is a piece of hematite for grounding if after meditating in the morning I feel too lightheaded. I have a piece of carnelian which is a stimluating stone and I'll keep it with me if I am too tired. (Although if I keep it on me for too long I get jittery!) The list goes on (amazonite to relieve worry and stress). I know they work because I've used them!

Not to mention the collection I have in my home!

I would love to chat with you about crystals and stones! They are awesome.

Blessings and Light!

~RW

Sounds like you started out with some goodies! I love crystals and everything about them. I use them for different things and mannnny people I know use them too. I even have a friend who didn't really believe whole heartedly in crystal therapy but he was getting migraines and put some lapis on the site of the pain and concentrated and it went away... There are many books to find out about the properties of crystals and their healing powers. I have The Crystal Bible... but there is another REALLY good one that I think is called Love is in the Earth. That one is jam packed with info. You have to find what works for you and what you believe. namaste

Crystals by themselves do not contain any "energetic" properties, although certain types can contain traces of natural-electromagnetic impulses. For instance, piezzo-quartz is a semi-conductor of sorts. For use in spiritual/esoteric pursuits, some will say they don't work, some will say they do. For myself, I would say that, without any "placebo effect", they do affect the "biofield" in some way, apparently disrupting the flow of energies. Some types of crystals "react" to electricity or magneticism - or appear to.

Crystals have long been used as talismans/amulets to ward/attract negative entities/positive influencers. Many spiritualists use crystals for aligning the "chakras" and in "psychic healing". Another use for different types of crystals is a form of "colour therapy", where the different colours of the crystals affect a person's moods or emotions and they react accordingly.

I do use crystals in much of my spiritual work, and many are believed to have "mysterious powers", but those are mostly mythological. In fact, I'm co-writing a guide/dictionary on my own personal findings with working with crystals, from both a spiritual viewpoint and a paranormal investigator's.

Feel free to "try it out", but keep an open mind. Do some research on crystals and crystal healing. There are plenty links at Google.com or Ask.com and *you* decide for yourself if it works for *you*.

I'm afraid it's a form of pseudoscience and has never been demonstrated to be effective in any way at all.

Crystals are just nice looking rocks. They don't contain any "energies" or "vibrations". Enjoy how they look and feel, but don't expect any healing or therapy from them.

You really need to check out "The Depth Factor" meditation program, it's the best, it's been voted as the number 1 meditation program made so far. Here is their official web-site: http://www.thedepthfactor.net

It combines binaural beats and ancient meditation techniques to deliver the best meditation experience. This is perfect course for a beginner or an intermediate. Good luck!

Yes it does, I have been practicing it and receiving it since I was very young (at least the last 20 years). In my practice, the crystals are placed over the chakras to open, clean and re-attune them, setting the body's natural energy flows "right" in the individual.

While black tourmaline can be grounding, it also passes a very negative energy if not properly used, so please only use that to "draw out," and do not put the energies of that stone into another person or yourself.

you can believe in what ever you want, no one has to confirm it or deny it. it's like believing in Santa.
crystals are rocks, and some large geodes emit harmful levels of radon radiation, but a few crystals won't do that.
just have fun with it and do what ever makes you feel good.
and hey, they look really cool so why not collect a few..... you
should take a course in Geology, I love it, bet you would too!

Crystals have a placebo effect. This means if you believe that they work, they work. We have a couple of acquaintences who believe in that stuff, but I think it's a load of crap.
