Both Hillary Clinton and George Allen, running for re-election to the US Senate, have been involved in controversies regarding seemingly insensitive and/or bigoted remarks:

Every situation is different. And everyone has his or her own biases. I picked one Republican and one Democrat. There are other examples.

My question? What do you think? Are these people just running on autopilot, after speaking in public all day and night, over and over? Are they idiots? Are they bigots? Are we expecting too much of them? Is the media being biased in their coverage? Or do they just want to tear down anyone they can? Or, are they doing their job, as opposed to shielding candidates as was apparently done in the past?

Are all the good candidates too smart to run for office?

I think most of the candidates say what they think any given audience wants to hear regardless of what they really believe. Not thinking of the consequences when faced with yet another audience with different beliefs. It's all gibberish.

Yes, the good candidates are too smart to run and why would they when there is no respect for the office.

There is not a single presidential candidate that does not have foot-in-mouth syndrome (and Hillary is one of the WORST of the bunch) -- and they are definitely prejudiced, out of touch with everyday life, the media is DEFINITELY Biased, and it is just so easy to tear the candidates apart because when you have to live with the REALITY of being a single parent, with SOLELY your income and raised your children to adulthood and independence (without ANY child Support -- enforcement -- huh? What's that?), and your ex comes back every so often to once again victimize and re-brutalize and re-burglarize your residence -- then YES, they are SO FAR OUT OF TOUCH with reality that there is no way they can have an understanding of 'real life'.

I don't know if Queen Hillary the Great is "too smart to run for office" or not but I do know that she is extremely smart and has ALL the answers.

Almost all candidates stick their foot in their mouth at some point. They are just around cameras too much.

george allen is an idiot, a former california beach punk who tries to pretend he's a native virginian...was a disaster as governor, has done nothing noteworthy as a senator, and owes his political survival to a gang of mini-karl roves who have done his dirty work for him...

I don't know, maybe they need to wear a concealed earpiece like our President. He avoids gaffes by not doing any of his own thinking.

If you don't trust links here try your own search under "Bush earpiece" "Bush ear piece" "Bush wired"
