The Mallorian is a continuation of the Belgariad!! same characters, and some new ones too. The 5 books of the Mallorian are: Guardians of the West, King of the Murgos, Demon Lord of Karanda, Sorceress of Darshiva, The Seeress of Kell.
Also you can try The Elenium. Not as good as the others but also good.

George Martin's "Game of Thrones" series. It is a lot more gritty (and depressing) than Eddings, but has the same intertwined story line.
