I think in a lot of ways it does. I saw a study on TV that showed the physiological reactions men and women have when they see someone they consider good-looking. Their brain waves actually altered. And think of this - why do we have endless magazines with polls on the "sexiest person in movies/tv/the world"?
Would Mary Kate and Ashley be so rich now if they weren't good looking? Would anyone really care about Paris Hilton or Britney Spears? or Brad Pitt?
I worked in a bar once and this guy came in who was drop-dead gorgeous (per all the ladies around me) and was looking for a job. He got it immediately and was one of the dumbest, most conceited people I have ever met, yet he made big bucks in tips because of his looks...
And to be honest, if I find a lady attractive, I treat her differently than I treat someone I don't find attractive.

Yes in a sense. If you look at the way they portray families in movies television series and things like that. You hardly ever see any plain or ugly people in any roles. If you see any of them they are always typecast and usually don't last very long. This is the image they want families and such to be portrayed. I mean even the nerds, are people that once they go through their transformation, as if they needed help, they automatically are god's or goddesses. People who say they don't cater to the good-looking are either lying or not telling the whole truth. I cater to the good looking females at least. I look very plain. I'm just being honest. Everyone wants to be good-looking, you would be crazy to not want to be. That is not how the real world works. So kick back and relax and don't worry about it anymore if you want to cater then cater, if not sit back and say you don't cater.

this is not a difficult question to answer. Not difficult to defend my answer. YES, the world does cater to beauty in all forms. Just think about who we admire and adore? Especially in this country, beautyful people are sought after. They receivie privileges and pardon--not extended to all. My beautiful blonde haried, blue eyed friend has been pulled over numerous times by cops who ended up flirting w/her and not writing her a ticket. When she has had car problem on the road, several passerbys have stopped to help. I can assure you that my experience has been quite different. And when we were " poor college students," and she'd be short @ cash registers, several times, she was permitted to go ahead. We would laugh about it and decided one day to do an experiment. We took her car in for an estimate on repiar. I took it in and rec'd an estimate. Several days later, she took it in--and for the same problem was quoted a price $ 75 less than what I had been quoted. We probably both rec'd high estimates, but clearly, they were willing to "screw " her less!!. i can give you endless examples, but you get my point!!!

Most definitely. I watched a documentary awhile back where they took 2 people, one was very attractive, slim but had no previous experience, the other was a little overweight (by no means obese) and not very attractive but had many years of experience and had them apply for the same jobs. Five out of six they had chosen to hire the attractive person even though the experience level was much higher with the non attractive one. think that proves it as well as the ads that hit us in the face daily.

People don't necessarily cater to those who are attractive, but rather to those that can do for them.
Bill Gates is far from attractive, but people cater to him because he has money and because of his status.

Only the people in the world that feel that looks are everything. Unfortunately that is too big a percentage!
