Has anyone bought furniture at Big Lots?

Bought a couch there a few years ago and mother bought furniture there a couple months ago. At the Big Lots here, they do not deliver, but will give you a 'pick-up-truck-guy's phone number and you can pay him to deliver it.

I've purchased a number of things there (and will continue to do so until after graduation!), and fully agree with one other answerer...you only get what you pay for. They do have some cute stuff there, but most is manufactured with cheap material and cheap labor...good for first apartments, 'extra rooms', or dorms, not so good for full time/full family living environment.

Purchased a 7 foot high and 7 wide bookcase/credenza over 11 years ago for my home office. Mostly heavy duty particle board with dark Oak veneer. We had to assemble it, and I do mean assemble. Still looks great and very sturdy. I'm an accountant, believe me the shelves are full of books and files. Cleans up nicely and furniture polish goes on just like real oak.No one can believe it's made out of what it is. Impressive looking. Don't know if they still offer this quality.

I once bought a futon and there were tons of missing pieces. Not so good when you're trying to put the thing together. I would look for a nice used piece if money is an issue.

I don't know about delivery but I have bought furniture there and it was complete junk. You get what you pay for I guess...

I'm dont know if they deliver or not. but the furture is okay. Try looking on there website. See if they have an ad for it. Doesn't hurt to try or ask the manger.
