to be on the safe side get an passport, but that takes up to a 6-8 wks, but an original birth certificate is good w/id, make sure its the original or you'll be sorry, and make copies about 3-4 should be kept with a few trust worthy people or in a safe place at home in case you loose your id over there, be careful and oh its a beauty , your shampoo and things that cant be bought has to packed in your luggage to be checked in.

To get into the Bahamas it is recommended that you have a passport or an original birth certificate. Go to the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism web site at www.bahamas.com then under "About the Bahamas" select "Entry Requirements". The rules about what you can bring onto the plane as carry-on are whatever the current TSA rules are. You might want to go to your airline's web site to get the most up-to-date information.

Call the airline you're flying on. They can tell you the requirements for entry into the Bahamas and tell you what is and isn't allowed in your carry-on bag.

you definitely need passport (if you are not from there) or birth certificate (if you were born there). As for what to take and what to carry you need to contact the airlines or TSA. You can call or go online. They will tell you what you need to know.
