Yea it's part of the kuiper belt that is a sphere around the solar system bit like putting the sun in the middle of a football. Pluto was a lucky find in it's day even with modern telescopes it's hard to find.
Where the planets orbit on an ecliptic plane kuiper belt objects don't Pluto Orbits 20% off kilter to the other planets and other kuiper belt objects have oppsite orbits rotating over our ecliptic

I didn't know they could do that. So now what kids are learning in school is wrong, there aren't 9 planets, only 8.
