He had been emailing her mother (or so he believed it was) and admitted to having killed her. I do not believe he is guilty of killing JBR though, but rather guilty of being a sick pedophile.

I think he was e-mailing some guy and very interested in the JBR story, so this guy turned him in and the Prosecutor must know something because I don't think that the Prosecutor would go to all this trouble for nothing. they have to have something on him, they have DNA and he did say to the Media that he was with JBR when she died. I think he knows something or who did it anyway. We'll all see soon. whatever he is a sick man! that man needs to be put down! I am sorry to talk this way but anyone that is like this toward Children is of no use in this world! No telling what else or what other crimes against Children he has committed either!

No he was supposedly e-mailing a professor from University of Colorodo who wrote a book about the case. He was e-mailing the professor for about 4 years I think. The professor immediately informed the FBI who were helping the professor keep the correspodence going. Enough evidence was given I guess for the police to arrest him. During the arrest he confessed.
I think he's full of it though. He was just obsessed with her probably and wanted to be close to her in some way and said he killed her cuz he's a weirdo.

"Hello He'sfromBarc.., no one really knows anything for certain. Some newspapers say there was an admission of sorts; however, we can speculate on a broader scale when we read or hear of a Grand Jury indicting the alleged murderer.

I have not heard that he actually confessed.
I believe that his statement was closer to "I was with her when she died." which isn't really professing guilt for her murder, so, I can't say that he really cleared his conscience, if he was actually trying to.
I think it's more like having been hounded by authorities and the cloud of suspicion, he finally cracked. More of a "would you just get off my *** already!", than a "I can't live with what I've done".

No. He'd been communicating with a professor via E-mails.
The professor contacted the authorities. They tracked the
e-mails to where he was living overseas. And the went to arrest
him.

No, he did not "just walk into a police station one day and confess." They've been watching him for months and they went after him.

If you're talking about the guy they arrested in Thailand (John Mark Karr?), the answer is 'no.' They'd been following him for some time, and he has been a suspect in the case for awhile now.
