Karma is a condition, and not destiny. It is one of the five factors which decide any event pertaining to a human life. Karma is the motivated action of the individual whose result whether good or bad is reaped by the doer. It is called the 'kriyamana'. The accumulated result is referred to as the 'Karma' of the previous birth which is carried over to the current account during this birth. It is called the 'prarbdha'. The third type of Karma is the 'sanchita' or the accumulated during the cycles of birth that determines the 'gene'.

Destiny is the result of the accumulated Karma of the previous birth what the Indians call 'Daivam' in their philosophy. Fate or destiny or the 'Daivam' is the result of the previous life or 'prarbdha'.

Karma is an energetic reaction of our past actions and choices, that's all; this means that we will go exactly what we have made someone else undergo in some lifetime, as that energy is still there in the universe so it will boomerang on us sooner or later and mostly when we are least prepared, as that is the only way it can be cleared.

Karma creates the energy experiences we are fated to experience or simply our fate, while destiny is what we created once we have experienced them and used them as springboards to reach a higher level on awareness.

A victim can either feel victimized or receive an experience with humility and grace, to see how did he created it in the first place. What was the lesson embedded in it, and receive the gift of wisdom buried under the all the layers pain and anger. The pain and anger was fated while wisdom in it is the destiny, but to go there first we have to clear all the emotional residues through forgiveness and then use the symbolic sight, to clearly see beyond the limited ego perspective.

Karma is not fixed. You have the power to change your karma through service to others. Destiny is set, fixed, and nothing you can do will change it. Some people will say that isn’t true…that a farm boy can become the leader of a nation if he works at it. But what if it was always that farm boys destiny to lead? Then everything that he did to “change” his destiny was actually fulfilling his destiny.

Of course if that farm boy turned leader turns out to be particularly cruel and does not serve the needs of his people, then his karma will dictate that he comes back as a dung beetle in his next life.

Of course reincarnation is a farce…but that is for another question.

no. there r three kinds of karma. karma means our deeds. 1. the work we do. that is called karya or karma. krishna in bhagavadgitha says " do your karma. don't worry about the results. doing is your duty. leave the rest to god " 2. the things we have done in our last birth. we suffer or enjoy on this earth depending on the karma we did in our last birth.( prarabda karma )3. the rituals we do when somebody like our relatives die. i don't think destiny is the right word. karma leads our destiny.

well karma means all you can put in without thinking abt the result.may be you take it with destiny as there is a mild connection between what u do and what there in destiny but believe me that your own karma can change your destiny.

Here: I just wrote this on another question: (Star Wars Example) Also, there IS a difference between Destiny and Fate. A lot of times people are confused by the two and mistakenly assume they are the same. For example, one might say Luke Skywalker was "destined" to become a Jedi from the moment he wa born, in fact, I recall Darth Vader saying this, but this is not to be confused with Fate at all. Luke became a Jedi because he made choices to become a Jedi and fufill his Destiny. Most people watch that scene and think Vader is talking about Fate, but he is not. He already knows his son, Luke, has made choices that will make it possible for him to become a Jedi Knight. In short, Vader has faith in his son, it is evident by his "choice" of words in this scene. If Luke were fated into becoming a Jedi, Luke would not have free-will not to become one. In Fate, an "entity" guides the person to his/her already fated ultimate end of the journey, where along the way there are no actually choices. In Destiny, there can still be an "entity", but it does not guide you, you have free-will and the choices you make along your journey thru life lead you to your ultimate goal or end. It all depends on what you believe, or....by the way, what you "choose" to believe lol! ;) Peace
