Some of the cheaper Australian rainbows can be purchased for $3-5 each. When you get on to the hard to find colors, they can be in the neighborhood of $10-25 each.

They are not difficult fish to spawn, but all the conditions must be right. They are egglayers, so there are certain things that must be done before and after they spawn. They are not large fish, but they move quite fast and do need a lot of swimming room.

Do some google research and get your large tank ready before you take the plunge.

it surely relies upon on which cichlids you have, yet suitable now I actually have a Tanganyika cichlid tank (a hundred gallons) with Australian rainbows in it. they have been at the same time for over a 300 and sixty 5 days, and that they are all doing super.
