Truth is the same, but it is not revealed once and for all. The Nature is the Truth in its gross form. And the Nature unfolds gradually. In each human society the level of understanding of the Truth differs according to the progress of its people in the spiritual sphere. That is why, even since the pre-Christian era the people in the West were looking at the East for spiritual guidance.
Religions are the evolved faith of a particular society. Judaism has its relevance to the Jewish society at the time of Judas, and it has reformed with the passage of time. Like wise, Jesus brought about reforms in Judaism and preached Christianity and Muhammad introduced reforms in the religious practise prevailing in Arab during his time. It is a different matter that his followers have made it a political charter and have zealously protected it from any further change even when the Arabian society has changed a lot and the faith is no longer confined to the Arabians, but spread all over the world. So, the fact remains that the Truth which unfolds gradually should be accepted by the religion concerned as an ever changing and evolving ultimate which is the same irrespective of time, place and people.Religions have their relevance to time, place and people.

I'm going to answer your first question, because I don't know enough about Christianity and Hinduism to offer an opinion on where they differ.
If the Truth is the same, why are there different religions?
The answer is fairly simple. If the Truth were a story and everyone on the planet were to read that story and then you were to ask them to tell you what they read about, you would get something different from every person.
That's the same with religion. Regardless of whether or not people believe in one God or many, male or female, it doesn't matter, everyone sees it differently. The reason so many people align themselves together under different churches, etc, is because they have chosen a group that is the closest to what they believe individually.
Religion and faith is different for everyone, but they are ALL based on the same thing. That there is something out there that we can't see and can't touch and is a part of our everyday lives.
People just get hung on names, that's all.
My two cents. Take it or leave it.

I'm not sure what you mean by "emphasise on the Truth",
but I think that religions are born from realizations of certain truths regarding existence and often come from "mystical" experiences. I think that in this respect Christianity and Hinduism do not differ. The words of Christ, Moses, Muhammad, Krishna, Zoroaster, etc. inspired people to "see the truth" in some respect and those people turned around to tell everyone about how inspiring those masters are. Pretty soon people are telling everyone about what they've heard and the rumors get indoctrinated.
Though a certain similar essence may exist in all religions they differ because they are born of and passed down through different traditions. The cultures they are in shape how subsequent beliefs and adulterations form. Then people see differences in their Gods, get scared, and pick fights to show whose God is better. All nonsense.
P.S. What's that guy talking about? Ishmael formed Hinduism? I think he's confused.

Christianity was founded by Jesus Christ, isn't it??? What did He teach??? You all read the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John. When did Christianity enter the Roman Empire??? What did THEY teach??? How different, right???
Hinduism was found by Ishmael. Funny, right??? But when you read Genesis, you can see that God allowed Abraham to have a baby with his maiden, although He wasn't happy. Though cast out from Abraham, her master, God protected them. Ishmael grew and spread HIS beliefs. "In the second place, the idea of a creator God does not explain the anomaly, but simply expresses the cruel fiat of an all-powerful being. There must have been causes, then, before his birth, to make a man miserable or happy and those were his past actions." "Why, if they are all created, why does a just and merciful God create one happy and another unhappy, why is He so partial? Nor would it mend matters in the least to hold that those who are miserable in this life will be happy in a future one. Why should a man be miserable even here in the reign of a just and merciful God?" These are some of his teachings.
Christianity and paganism joined forces when Constantine allowed Christianity. After he was converted, he wanted EVERYONE to convert with him. There were some people who wanted to keep their paganist beliefs. After they were "baptised," meaning that they WEREN'T fully baptised, paganism influenced christianity. Satan entered God's Holy Church. He confused EVERYTHING. Why??? Because he is God's sworn enemy. He doesn't want people to live with God. You know that. People today are blinded by the REAL truth. Even I don't know which is the REAL truth. You need to figure it out, whether it's praying to God to show you which is the truth or reading the Holy Writ.

This is a brilliant question !
The truth is the same and it is revealed to all religions in the same way, however, when the creator reveals the truth to us, it is not in the form of words but rather an intuitive realization. Then somehow, god's messengers ( all the prophets) screw up god's message because they have poor language and translation skills.
This is not god's fault. The poor translation skills of prophets lead to problems down the road. There will one day come a true prophet who translates god's word into language so articulately, that for once and for all, the truth shall be known clearly by all of mankind all at once, and there shall be one global religion that makes total sense and is rarely doubted or questioned.

I don't care about differences. But to answer your first question The truth is the same, we just call it by different names everywhere in the world. Just like we call houses and trees and boats by different names depending on where we live in the world. We don't say that people who speak French or German are WRONG because they call objects by another name, so why do we get so hung-up over religion? Indoctrination that's why. We are taught from an early age that ours is the right "name" for it. Whoever we are! They are all the same, just constructs for handling life and it's difficulties. Different people do it differently and call it by different names, that's all.

Religions all hold one aspect of the Truth, each culture and person sees the truth differently because they are unique and special creation. Without the differences, there would be no learning, growth or new experiences, no new understanding of the Truth. Without these differences, life grows stale, stagnant and no new creation occurs.

Think of religion as an Umbrella. At the top of the umbrella is GOD. Branching down are different takes on God mainly due to geographical distances that seperated people in the past. All religions are similar and we all worhip the same God. We just have different prophets that take us there.

This is what i think!
religions had come after each other, completing each other and complicating eachother, but they all have the same point. the reason for slight difference is that human have changed it and it is upon to u to figure out the truths and lies.
