My left leg is just aching. It's sore in some spots too and my foot feels like its going numb. It's not bruised, just really sore. My legs usually ache after I drink which I did last night. Why do they do that? Today, it's really bad and only in one leg. Could I have blood clots?

pain in your leg just means an irritant. your situation is all too common. take ibprofen. it helps relieve the pain and cramps in legs. you may be driking too much water. not enough water or too much hurts your body. if you drink a lot of water, slow it down a but. if you barely drink it, DRINK DRINK DRINK!!!

blood clots.... it could be but as for now try the ibrofen and the water sugestion. if it gets way too bad and my suggestions don't work. see a doctor immediatly. see one as soo nas you can, actually set up an appointment right away. its better to be safe then sorry!

For starters, no one here on Answers is a medical professional, including myself, and if you have fears about blood clots, etc. then a visit to the doctor is in order... but based on what you've said, the first thing I'd do is drink some water. It sounds to me like you don't drink enough of it, and you are in need of it.

You went out drinking last night, and the alcohol has dehydrated you, which is likely causing the leg pains/cramps. Drink a bottle of water and I am thinking that the problem should subside. Next time you go drinking, drink some water beforehand and perhaps another glass later on to combat this. Some people (particularly people with small builds) can get dehydrated fairly easily. Another sign of dehydration is dark urine.

A previous answerer's suggestion about your also being low on potassium also might have merit...bananas are a good source of it. Alcohol consumption tends to rob the body of nutrients as the liver, etc. have to work harder to metabolize the alcohol.

IF the pain persists or gets worse, or seems to be spreading, see a doctor without delay...you may have other issues.

Hope this helped.

Ok........if you were drinking alcohol, and it "ONLY" occurs with it's use the day after then you probably drank a little too much. If it is due to the alcohol, not only does alcohol dehydrate you but it depletes your potassium and electrolytes. You need to drink some water lots of it and eat a few banannas take a good multi vitamin and also viamin C, vitamin B6 helps get over the achiness. You esentially have a hang over, but apparently without the headace and other stuff that can usually occur like nausea etc. So take a few ibuprophen 600mg.'s should be enough and lots of water or gatorade to repalce electrolyte loss and take those vitamins, eat a bannana or two for the cramping! Most likely a hangover, but if pain persist for more than 24 hrs seek urgent medical attention, it could be something more serious.

It is definitely a possibility that you have a clot. You should see your doctor immediately--if it is a clot, you could be at risk of it breaking off and traveling to your heart or brain. If you notice any other symptoms such as chest pain, loss of balance, blurred or double vision, or numbness in any other area, get to an emergency room pronto. Don't want to sound scary, but I have high clotting factor and the symptoms you have described are the ones my doctor told me to be on the look out for.

If your foot is going numb, it could be a pinched nerve, but the other symptoms do not go along with a pinched nerve.

You should contact your doctor asap.

Its called dehydration, which causes leg cramps, drink more water. Also lack of potassium, which is found in bananas, eat some!
