My favourite of the Pheonix Nights is when 'Ironside' starts going out with Beverley after meeting her at a singles night.
Slowly going up the stairlift: "Oooh, the things I'm gonna do to you..."
Genius.

I love his stand up stuff, because he is the same age as me I think it speaks to people of the same generation. We all have similar memories.
I could never pick a favorite episode they are all so good. But when pushed, I would say that the scene in Max and Paddy where he wakes up on the floor and finds the other guy masterbating above him - was hilarious!

His stand up is better than his sitcom stuff, but saying that i did love max and paddy so much. I haven't seen much Phoenix Nights but I'd have to say I prefered Max and Paddy

Why do you imagine this became tripe? i assumed he were given it bang on at demonstrating what a number of those exhibits have become. Contestants with perplexing success memories saying how a lot they need to win. extreme crying, undesirable songs and so on. Hoping it lasts more desirable than one nighttime. If its tripe then per chance thats because the prepare he became parodying is now tripe.

Yes!! His stand up is hilarious, I have both of them on dvd, and it does not matter how many times I watch it I still laugh! He has a book coming out in October as well!! can't wait.
