How can you get a cheap mobile phone w/o a contract?

Question

I've been w/cingular for about 6 months.The problem is my phone's screen is messed up (cant see anything) and I want another phone.

The store said they could not help and that the cheapest phone they had was $200+. Apparently I'm not far enough along in my contract to upgrade. I don't want to spend that much on a phone.

I understand that I can't get the same deal as the two year activation prices, but there has to be another way to get a cheap cell phone. I really want a RZR but don't want to spend more than $99.

Is ebay the best option? and how can I tell if the phone is cingular compatible

I don't want to do prepaid, I have a 2YEAR contract w/cingular already my phone just doesn't work.
