Shouldn't you have asked your Physician this question?
Please ask your Doctor.
This kind of question needs a proper medical perspective and an awareness of your medical history. I doubt this forum can help you better than your Doc.

One thing that might help is the dietary supplement glutamine. Some time ago, when I was in college and had no money for doctors or prescriptions, a recurring ulcer problem started bothering me again. I did some research, and found that glutamine taken on an empty stomach might help alleivate the pain and heal the damaged tissue. It worked within 2 weeks. Glutamine is an amino acid that can be found in health food or drug stores in dietary supplement/capsule form. I also agree with other posters about monitoring the foods you eat. Orange juice and acidic sauces (i.e. tomato) can cause flare ups and irritation. If you are interested in approaching this from a nutritional standpoint, consider a pH balanced diet:

Robert O. Young is well versed in this type of diet, and it may help address your ailment. Good luck.

Bad luck-my father has one. He has no acidy or fatty foods and eats lots of milk puddings- It is also important to realise that a lot of duodenal ulcers are the product of worry so take a look at what is going on in your life.

Avoid spicy food for a start. Bananas are very good as they contain plantains and they can help with the stomach lining repairing itself. The greener the banana the better.
Also drinking milk or milkshake is good as it gives a good strong lining to the stomach and helps prevent the acid from directly attacking the stomach lining.
When I first had my ulcer and it was at its worst I felt sick all the time and the idea of food made me feel worse, but I was still able to drink milkshakes and that really helped. I personally recommend chocolate frijj!! its thick and yummy and really does the trick.
Hope you feel better soon.

Most foods are acceptable but generally should avoid very hot(pepperish foods). Avoid drinking milk in other to relieve your pains for it would give you temporary relief but will end up worsening the ulcer eventually. Some say avoid fried food but this is difficult to follow.

I was diagnosed with one of those 35 years ago and they said no coffee, no wine, no fried foods....okay they made a list of all my favourite things and said 'no' to them all. I ignored their advice and have never seen a doctor since and I'm as healthy as a horse! This is not good medical advice but just to let you know doctors are not always right.

drink plenty of water to make to stools softer and easier to pass,
Eat plenty of fibre rich foods, such as wholemeal bread and fruit and veg.
A good meal is oatmeal, add as many interesting things to it as you can, like dried fruit (which is also high in fibre).
The oatmeal or porridge will clean up the bowels, like a vacuum by taking up any other surplus still within the digestive tract.
