You can use lamisil it's an athletes foot remedy it will clear it up. Don't get worried it Lamasil is for foot fungus, but the white spots are actually a fungus under the skin.

I have some sunspots too. They are on my upper lip - which sucks, because it looks like a mustache! :( They get darker when I go out in the sun, but they lighten up during the winter.
I recently asked my dermatologist about it. He said there's not much he could do. There are creams you can buy at the drugstore which contain hydroquinone. He said you can get prescription creams, but they have the same ingredient as the drugstore ones.
So go to Walgreens or Longs or your local drugstore, and ask the pharmacist for a skin lightening cream containing hydroquinone. They're not expensive or anything. They take many weeks to be effective, but there aren't many other options.
I would still recommend seeing a dermatologist, just to make sure that it really is a sunspot and not something more serious. You never know - maybe your doctor will have some ideas that mine didn't.
Good luck to you.

I sell avon and there are a couple of products that work. My favorite is the ANEW Alternative. It is expensive $32.00 but it works great. If your mom is willing to give it a try find you closest AVON lady and give her a call! It helps heal the damage done to the skin from the sun and then helps protect from future damage and is a face product. There are more products that help even out skin tone as well and you can go into detail with your AVON lady about what might work best for you. Any cream that you try on your skin to help heal problem areas like this should work in the amount of time it takes a paper cut to heal on your finger. This is the amount of time it takes your sking to rejuvenate. A neat little bit of info!

I think you mean freckles. Sunspots are the giant flames that appear on the surface of the sun.
Freckles are tough to get rid of although you could cover them with makeup or wait till they fade in the winter.
That is weird that you have only one. Freckles usually come in big clusters. When you see your doctor for a physical have him check it to make sure it is not a brown spot that could keep growing.
