Everything Vonnegut. I read all of his books again every year or so and no matter how many times I re-read them, I keep going back. They're my best old friends that I just have to visit-- even though I always know exactly what they're going to say, they say it so well.

Every once in awhile, I cheat on old Kurt and pick up some Tom Robbins or some Kinky Friedman or somebody, and I can't say we don't have a good time. But KV's the one I love, so I have to keep on going back home. Home to Breakfast of Champions, Hocus Pocus, Slapstick, Deadeye Dick, Jailbird, and all the rest. Even though I've been there so many times, they always seem so fresh, and they pick me up whether I'm feeling blue or not. I re-read "Hocus Pocus" for each new president and rededicate it to them, and each time, it seems like this is the one KV was making fun of.

How can it be anybody but George Bush? "Yale is where the Plantation Owners go to learn how to keep the natives busy killing each other instead of them."

Kurt Vonnegut for President! No more Blue Monday! *

Anne of Green Gables, by L.M. Montgomery
The Neverending Story, by Michael Ende

I don't normally re-read much, because I have so many books I haven't read yet, but these two often come up on my TBR list, even though i've read them countless times before.

I make it a habit to read The Lord of the Rings Trilogy at least once a year. I also love the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. I've read them all so far!
