Relax – remember, if you tense up, it might be difficult to remove the tampon. Gently pull the removal string downward at the same angle you used to insert the tampon. It should slide out easily. If it does not come out easily or you feel discomfort while removing the tampon, it probably means you didn't need to change it because it hadn't absorbed enough yet. You may either want to wear a tampon longer next time or use a lower absorbency for that flow level (Lights absorbency is the lowest absorbency tampon available). Don't worry about the string – it's securely sewn throughout the tampon.
Of course, always remove your used tampon before you insert a new tampon.
You should change your tampon every 4 to 8 hours, as needed.
Be sure to remember to remove the last tampon at the end of a period.
Tampons can be disposed of by throwing in the garbage or by flushing for most people. However, flushing tampons is not recommended for septic systems. Ask your parents if it's OK to flush them at your house.

well the same things happened to me all you have to do is either put one leg on bath tub or your tiolet then slowly relax then pull gently dont like rip it out or anything and it may also hurt because you need a smaller size because some womans holes arent that big so you should try:http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100230&navAction=jump&navCount=2&skuid=sku2340331&id=prod2340853 these because they are small to go in but they hold the flow great there not as diskreet but there the same thing you just pick diskreet or not
or
http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=100230&navAction=jump&navCount=3&skuid=sku350586&id=prod350585 these because there very small diskreet and they hold the flow oh and these are easier to take out because when they expand they dont expand out it makes like a circular wich makes it much much eiaser to take out

I am sad to find that you are facing trouble in removing tampon.
First of all, stretch your labia using your fingers to the maximum. Then look into it and put your fingers slightly into your vagina and slowly pull out the tampon. If it hurts, wait for a few seconds and then pull the string out.
It may take some more time to remove the tampon. That is okay.
Do ask your boyfriend/husband to remove your tampon. You ask him to stretch your labia and you slowly pull out the string. He can prove to be of good help to you in this regard. Trust me.
Good luck.

definitely use a smaller size, and use the kind that expands lengthwise llike tampax...other brands like kotex and playtex expand widthwise and get bigger around. also, you might try changing it more often.
