If I just need a well woman exam, can I still go to an Ob/gyn or is this only for birthing?

Yes u can go c an OB/GYN for a well woman check up, that is exactly what they are there for. Hope all is well.

You can go to a OB/GYN. They are there for both well woman visits as well as pregnancy. They are specialists and can help you with any female medical problem you have. I prefer them over my regular doctor because they better understand the woman's body, they are more understanding and compassionate towards you.

ob/gyn is short for obstetrician/gynecologist. The obstetrician part takes care of the pregancy, the gynecologist takes care of everything else. The biggest part of the ob/gyn's day is well-woman exams.

It's important for you to go every year. A woman should have a pelvic exam every year beginning when she starts having sexual intercourse, or when she turns 18 - whichever comes first. Pelvic exams are important to protect your health, and they provide an opportunity to talk about your reproductive health.
The exam will (or should) include a confidential medical history, including family history of disease, your sexual history, medications you take, and questions about activities you participate in. yes you can still go in fact you are probably better of going to your ob/gyn i find they could be more gentle than your reg doc.
