Because he's extremely happy it isn't him. He keeps sending all these people (alot of them are just out of school) over to this torn country to try and regain "peace". They never wanted us there in the first place. They were happy with the way they lived. It's just that First world countries (like ours, it's very modern and "spoiled") have it in their minds to go to these thrid world countries and "fix" their problems. They never had any problems. Everybody just has to be the same though and when we went into that country, we found that there were all these seperate groups and they all wanted to be leaders. This wouldn't have happened if we hadn't gone in there. Of course Benladin needed to be arrested, but if your going to take down one leader....find one the whole country can agree with.

In all seriousness, I can't imagine how any one man, or perhaps in the future, woman, can shoulder the daily turmoil and responsibilities of being the President of the United States and not crack under the pressure.

I often wonder if it is simple just too much of a task for one man or woman to shoulder.

I could not do the job and would not want to even attempt it. It's so easy to sit on the side lines and criticize - and there seems to enough of that going on - I would much rather like to see a lot more suggestions and comments about how we could do things differently than than just the constant rhetoric about our present policies.

In answer to your question, I can only imagine that the president is confident in the absolute necessity of what he is doing in order to keep other innocent Americans from being killed on our own soil - otherwise, I suppose he would be sitting wide-eyed on the end of his bed every night second guessing his decisions.

If you know exactly how many hours a president sleeps n wht all duties he needs to attend then u would'nt have asked this silly question. president has to control the whole country n he's a human so he too needs rest,..but he's so different from us coz he makes sure that most of the work is completed even if its late night....so people die, babies are born,n.....all the stuff continues n these all are not brought to the notice of a president.....(u shud remember that afterall he is a human too.,every one has some or the other back drop)

How can you sleep at night? The President is not personally responsible for all people's actions. People choose to commit crimes. Extreme muslims choose to set road bombs and kill other Iraqies. He makes many tough desions every day as all Presidents have. I am sure he doesn't sleep as well as you think though not for the reasons you think either. More than likely he is very worried about us and second guesses himself all the time like we all do. I feel sorry for him because media and individuals constently yell he is stupid or blame 9/11 on him as well as other weird or outragous acts. Yet they never offer to help or give a solution ; they only seem to want his head on a platter.

He has fought for what he believes is the right thing, He stands against whom ever comes against him. He has integrity and Morals. He has no reason not to sleep at night. He knows that good things come with a price and in war people die. He would be a coward if he doesn't accomplish his work for the fear of loosing soldiers.. Or you think those Firefighters and policeman that died in Sept 11 died for a worthless reason. When it was time to do their job they where brave enough to risk their existence for the safety of others. You think our soldiers get orders and they run.. No our nation is the Home of the Brave... I am proud to say our President is as well.

The same way we all do. Sleep is a requirement of the human body, and from the trenches to the white house, everyone sleeps. Some nights better & some nights tossing and turning.

My guess is he has more than one good Rx to help him through these rough days. That and, well, if you've ever see the Manchurian Candidate, he's most likely in a hypnotic state for 2/3 of the day anyhow, until he falls asleep, and dreams of the murders he's responsible for... 40,000 Iraqi citizens.... 3,000 American soldiers....

Everyone needs sleep... if you've ever lost anyone close to you how can you live? While I see your point is an unnecessary question to ask. Plus, the president doesn't understand what it's like to have a loved one on the battlefield. Just like a majority of congress.
