Yes, I came out late in life - I was 30. I was terrified of telling friends. I started with my closest. Arranged a lunch meeting, told them I had something important to tell them. Spent 15 minutes building up the courage, then said "I'm gay". To which my friend replied - "I've known that for years - what's the news?".
The fact is, most of our close friends and relatives already suspect - you are just confirming. I was lucky, in that all my family and friends were very accepting. I only had one friend who, after appearing to be OK with it, never spoke to me again. I figure he wasn't really a friend in the first place - his loss.
You'll probably be surprised both at how many people know already, and how many are completely accepting. If you lose some people, they weren't worth knowing in the first place.
Good luck! Email me if you want more info, or need to talk about it after the event :-)

I have done so... I suppose I am bi, but to be honest, I'm really not sure. There are people I have trusted, and I have told them about my attractions. There are also people who I do not consider safe. In any event, unless I have a good reason, there isn't really any point. Not saying to deny or hide who you are...
Best of luck with whatever you do.

This is a tough thing to bring up to friends. If you are gay, I am sure they would accept it. If you are bisexual or bi-curious, I doubt they would have a problem with it. If your friends are massive homophobes, then I would keep it to myself. I have had some friends that were straight, but enjoyed watching men masturbate, but I knew they werent gay. I also had some friends that were straight that experimented with men before, but I dont consider them to be gay.

why do you have to tell them? people that are straight dont tell each other that they like girls. Why make an exception with your own case? I've never had a friend tell me that he was gay but when I found out, I didnt give a cahoot. Thats my personally anyways.
