The term "packet" is just a metaphor, it is not meant to be taken literally.

A photon carries a very specific amount of energy, it is not necessary to think of how the energy was squeezed into a packet, since the packet does not really exist, not does energy have volume.

You might think of it, not as a continuous stream of energy...like the flow of a river, but instead like a highway of cars moving along, each car being distinct from the rest and representing an amount of energy even though they are all moving in the same direction and collectively make up traffic. But again, that is just a metaphor.

Not sure what u mean.........are u asking about photons and other massless particles? Or Batteries, Capacitors etc?

If ur asking about photons, gravitons and other massless particles which act as energy packets, then u have to realise that its not like someone or something inserted energy into 'packets'.

Its just that when energy is transmitted in the form of radiation, then it takes the form of discrete particles. And since these are massless particles, we can think of them as energy packets. This is the way nature functions.

The Term packet is not literal, it means that energy is at a certain frequency (occupies a set amount of space). You can picture waves coming on a beach as an example. Each wave that hits the beach is a "packet". The length of the waves determine the size of the packet. Hope that helps!

Like a battery???

It has to be change to a chemical form. It's held in the chemical bonds of the molecules until it's "recalled".
