I think that the best reasonably priced makeup brand is L'Oreal. It is part of a bigger company that alos owns Lancome and Maybelline. All the Lancome stuff is amazing but quite expensive, and L'Oreal basically mass produces Lancome's products, so you know that you are getting really good quality stuff! Also, the L'Oreal brand expands into all aspects of beauty and has never let me down.
Plus, its french. And everyone knows that the french are the best at beauty products, it's in their nature! How else do you think that the owners of L'Oreal became billionaires!?!

Sheer cover mineral foundation. Not sold in stores and fairly expensive, but i've learned that you get what you pay for especially when it covers up all blemishes, acne scars, and rosachea (sp?)--i wouldn't take for it plus it's very light and lasts all day. The only way it comes off is when you wash it off with washrag or with makeup remover.

For a cheap alternative, I prefer Maybelline makeup and MAC for shadow.

i normally use Maybeline because it is good makeulp and it really isnt that expensive...i just bought a duo eye shadow last night for $3.00..covergirl had single colors for like $5.00. tyra banks did a show on makeup and proved that just because a makeup costs more does not mean it will look or feel any different!
