My pill prescription has expired. I still want to be on my pill but i was told i could not untill i get updated this year on my pap. I could not take my pap not even a day earlier than i was suppose to or my insurance won't pay for it.....my period came so i could not go to my pap appointment. I rescheduled and i still had to skip going because i am STILL on my period. Its been a month now. it looks like its about to stop then it gets heavier. i naturally last 4 or 5 days. How long is too long where i should start to worry and go seek the advise of my OBGYN?

Anything over 10 days and I would get seen. It sucks when insurance issues keep us from doctor visits. As a woman, you want to make sure that you are able to have your regular PAPs done. Ovarian and cervical cancer are big killers, but they can stop it in its tracks thru early detection...that is what the PAP is for. I would rather deal with the bill....make small payments but pay something toward it monthly and they will leave you alone...but get your check up for your own safety.

You should call now periods generally run 5-7 days but shouldnever go longer than 10. Continuous bleeding could be a sign of miscarrage, cysts and a number of other things. You should consult you doctor immediatly.

If it's heavy at all after a couple of days call your obgyn who will probably tell you to go straight to the ER.
