I'm 17 and engaged i dont think its to young my dad however has gone crazy and says i'm being totally stupid what do you think?

Im to say this but you would be very dumb to get married that young!!! I got married when iwas 22 and im 24 now, but i cheated on my wife and it caused a lot of problems ...mainly because i didnt go out in the world and fully enjoy being a young adult!!! and when kids come into the picture your personal time kinda withers away. so take your dad's advice for real. Many times when your all caught up in love you are blinded from reality!!!

You can be engaged, but wait at LEAST 3 years before you get married. That should calm Dad down a bit

Well, being a mother of 2 daughters, I do think 17 is a bit young. The advice I would have given my daughters if they were in your shoes: You have so many years ahead of you to live life and do the things you cannot necessarily do when your married. I think its important to know what it is like to live on your own first, go to college, and be independent enough to support yourself. You will go through so many phases of life so, being engaged is OK, just fullfill all your dreams before you make such a huge lifetime commitment. Lots of luck to you!

You are young but not too young, you're not being stupid if you are seriously in love but you should listen to your dad. He only wants whats best for you and you dont wanna make bad mistakes.

yes, you are too young. during the next 6-7 years you are going to do a lot of changing as a person. you may not even recognize yourself at 25. so i think you should wait

Age wise you are not too young... But respect the tons of experience of your dad... at the same time instil confidence in your ownself and feel that you are not too young
