Yes the solar system is also expanding but the rate of expansion is not that much compared to the expansion of the universe...
For example the moon moves 2inches away from earth for every 100 years..so like this all the plants and etc objects in solar system are moving away..
and one more ,it is like this ,the gravity of the sun and the outward force of the planets and angular momentum of the planets are balanced so the planets are not moving... But this is not the case with the universe, coz the gravity is far less than the momentum of bodies ,that is the reason the universe is expanding

Oy! That physics major above is WRONG! The expansion of the universe is a large-scale effect. Clusters of galaxies are moving apart from each other. Some galaxies (such as the Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxies) are actually moving toward each other. The stars in a single galaxy are not moving apart from each other, because they are gravitationally bound to each other. Likewise the solar system is not expanding, because it is gravitationally bound. And the atoms inside Earth and people aren't expanding - if they were, then our rulers would be expanding also, and we wouldn't be able to measure the expansion!
It is true that the Moon is getting farther away from Earth by a few centimeters every year, but this has to do with orbital dynamics, not the expansion of the universe. Completely different effects.

hey deb_b, unfortunately all of your answers are incorrect so far, except for the one that just says yes.
the solar system IS expanding. and it's expanding at the exact same rate that the rest of the universe is expanding. ie, if the universe is expanding at 1% per billions of years, then the solar system is expanding at that rate as well, but then again, so is the earth, and so are we, and so is the measuring device we use to determine with... so we do not recognize this as a change because it's all relative to observation and our observation is changing in the same way the solar system is.
essentially, what einstein proved with relativity is the same thing in effect here... the earth is still the same number of miles from the sun, but the size of one mile is slowly getting "bigger"

No there may of been some adjustments but the expansion of the universe is not controlled by gravity. the solar system is.
