I'm a natural-style girl with clear complexion who doesn't usually wear much makeup. But, I'll be doing my own makeup for my wedding and need to go shopping. I don't really care what the price is but would like to hear about several different types (department store brands and drugstore-retail brands). I only need foundation, powder, blush and waterproof mascara. Thank you!

Wedding makeup means good photography makeup. Don't use anything with SPF or a powder, including mineral powder foundation. These will reflect light from the photographer's flash, making your face look paler than the rest of your body. I would use a good full-coverage foundation like Lancome's Magique Matte mousse for an even appearance in pictures. You can also use Maybelline Dream Matte mousse which is what I use in photo shoots. If you tend to get shiny, use oil-blotting sheets (Clean & Clear has some good ones) instead of powder.

There are several options for blush, L'Oreal's True Match is a good drugstore choice. Some very good universally flattering shades are NARS in Orgasm and Tarte's cheek stain in (appropriately enough) Blushing Bride. The Tarte blush is a gel push-up stick that will give you a nice, natural looking glow, and you'll probably decide you like it for every day since it can be layered and go from subtle to more dramatic.

There are several good options for mascara, I'd pick L'Oreal's Voluminous Full Definition waterproof mascara, it's just as good as Lancome's. You'll need to take it off with an oil-based remover (baby oil or Vaseline will work).

Use Bare Minerals is right!
Check it out. You'll look naturally stunning. Wish I'd heard about it before my wedding day, but that was long ago in the heavy, gross Merle Norman days.

Where to buy it...
If you're lucky enough to have a boutique in your town, go there and they'll give you a free make-under and help you with application and colors.
Go to www.bareescentuals.com and read about it. There is a link you can click on to order a starter kit. The kit comes with a how to video. They also have a link to show you where all the store locations are.
You can also buy it at www.qvc.com, or any Ulta salon, Sophia, and Nordstrom.
It's the best ever, and good for your skin. It looks very natural. I've used it for about 5 years, and will never use anything else.
Congratulations on your wedding! ;)

If you have never made up yourself by yourself PLS don't go for it on your Wedding Day. Make up is somthing that needs a lot of practice
Go to some Palor and get the most natural make up you can get. Natural make up will look best on the gown. Use good quality stuff. Check the ingredients. You might have reactions while using a product for the first time. Buy them before hand and start using.

I went and had my wedding makeup done at MAC (I have sensitive skin) and they did an awesome job! I wanted the natural look as well. I also had the girl at MAC show me all the products she used on my face so that I could do it myself in the future.

Also they sell Bare Minerals products at Ulta. http://www.ulta.com

For my wedding day I used Mary Kay, b/c my skin tone is in between and I have freckles. It was not heavy and it did not make me look fake. I looked as my everyday usual self but beautiful. I do not wear makeup at all, I am all natural everyday and Mary Kay kept my natural beauty on my best day.

MAC is the best ever invented...a little pricey but well worth it...they are located in higher end malls. You can also go online, but they do makeovers in the store too. I would get a makeup makeover way before your wedding and then buy what you like and do it yourself!

I think that since you usually dont wear makeup, you should definatly get your makeup done. Its a once in a lifetime experience for you, its your day, and you should blow every one away!
Its not even that pricey to get your makeup done. Lets say if you want to get your makeup done at MAC, you just buy cover up or powder, lip gloss and they do your makeup for free.

Same for lets say you go to Lancome at Bloomingdales. They tell you what you need to buy, its not that much, just powder and lop gloss, in order for them to do your makeup. I got mine done at Chanel, and I just bought powder and they did my makeup for free, and it was gorgouse.

Just make sure to tell them the way you want it, not too heavy, simple, elegant.

But I would definatly get my makeup done on my wedding day. Its my day and I want to look extra beautiful and blow everyone away. And plus if you get your makeup done professionally, it is also going to look flawless and beautiful in the pictures. Its your wedding day pictures, Im sure you want them to look good.

But since your rarely wear makeup, than you definatly need to get your makeup done. You need to look different on your wedding day. That is a must.

So Congradulations and Good Luck to you and your new life!

MAC! Schedule a make-over before the wedding to get the look you are going for.
