I don't know of a minimum age, but you want to be damn sure that you don't want kids before you get one. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to get one until you've already had a couple of kids, or at least until you're married and you and your wife absolutely don't want kids. they are reversible, but the success of reversals go WAY down after 2 years.

um, if your wife is getting the sterilization, it's called tubal ligation. break down the word vasectomy: vas=vas deferens (i.e. the tube between your testes and your penis that carries sperm) ectomy=removal of.

a vasectomy has no influence on the amount of semen that is released, since the ligation of the vas deferens is just past the epididymis, and has not reached the prostate or cowper's glands (which actually produce the rest of the liquid). this is from first-hand experience, btw.

This is a great choice if you don't want more kids. It's far better than a woman having a tubal ligation, which is more invasive, has longer recovery time, and is more expensive. Not everyone wants kids, and that's OK. You have one already, and not wanting more is also OK. For some reason, people seem to think you MUST have kids and at least two. I can't figure that out. There are plenty of kids in the world already.

I would go to Planned Parenthood or a similar organization to get names of doctors that will work with you on this. They'll want to see both of you before making a referral.

usually ( where im at anyways ) u need to 25 * b/c apparently thats when u cna decide u dontwant kids or more kids lol*
but there are exceptions and one can be younger . i think for the most part doctors dont recommend any one younger than 25 get a vasectomy due to maturityor regret more so than anything else .

I would wait untill at least 38 or 40 ........but it all depends on the situation , a doctor will preform one but probally not on a paitent younger then 25...remember this precedure will drasticly reduce you seamon count ,and you will barley be able to dribble out a load ,no more squriting your old ladies titties ,

I looked up your history. Did your wife have the procedure you mentioned previously? Is she the one who wants you to have the vasectomy? I think you both need to go to counseling. You were really excited about having a baby and now you are talking about getting yourself sterilized.

If she won't go to counseling, you should go for yourself.

I think legally you would have to be 21. However, you would have to find a surgeon who will sterilze you at that young age.

Your wife CANNOT have a vasectomy. That is impossible.
