Pluto never was a planet. It just took a few centuries for astronomers to realize the mistake they made in calling it a planet in the first place.

the best answer i can give you is "who cares?" its a naming problem. essentially, whether or not someone calls it a planet is extremely relative to that person in particular. so some hoity toity smart guy said its not a planet? so what? are we all confined to only listening to the hoity toity smart guy? what about the fact that there are plenty of other hoity toity smart guys who think that first guy is a hoity toity moron? essentially, call it a planet if you like, since the term planet has never been clearly defined enough to definatively rule out pluto (and hence the continuing back and forth on it by people who should be smart enough to be solving REAL problems)
