I have come to the conclusion everything I do is searching for the truth. I probe others, ask questions, look others in the eye for answers, and my hobbies are temporary distractions from my brain that never turns off this philosophical question.

It is very difficult to search for ' truth ' as the ' truth ' is a changing concept ! Something stated as truth right now ( it's raining ) maybe not the truth in 5 minutes, and so on; In this way truth is momentary and constantly changing.
They say, "The only constant thing in life is change;" - so on that premis " Truth " is in constant flux and dependant on time and space for it's existence in relation to us.
However this does make ' truth ' an eternal paradox and undefinable, in our finite universe.
Truth as we attempt to percieve it cannot exist, within the limit's that our existance imposes upon it.
In other word's " TRUTH IS "
But what that mean's, is the only philosophy.

I hope that at some stage you have asked yourself, and others, what is meant by 'truth' - and that you will continue, from time to time, to ask that question - and that you will ask both the the past and present about it. After all, you cannot find X if you have no idea what finding X would be like.

Actually, quite a lot has been found out about the *concept* of truth. For example:

- The opposite of truth is not falsity but non-truth. You can see this by considering the following:

"Sherlock Holmes really existed" is not true, it is false, but

"Sherlock Holmes lives at 221B Baker Street, London" is not false, it is a fictional truth (a truth about something fictional), so it is non-true rather than false.

If you haven't studied what philosophy has found out about the concept of truth, here are some topics to look up:

- 'proposition' as a philosophical term
- the laws of thought (a.k.a. the three basic laws of reasoning)
- the principle of bivalency
- sorts of truth
- theories of contingent truth
- truth and relativism

You need to be familiar with at least these things if you are serious about truth.

He who seeks truth believes that all what they are doing is in search of truth. In the journey difference individual is located at different point and so it is hard to derive common signs. Many times the truth seeker gets misguided through these varying symptoms.

I too observe people the way you do. My experience is that hasty conclusions will misguide always.

In the past I believe all I was doing was searching for the truth, either within myself or outside of myself. Have come to find that the truth that we all seek lies within ourselves if we slow down and truly listen to what is within our hearts. Now I am trying to live the truth that I found - or walk the truth in my life every moment of the day. I think it was easier to just seek out the truth - once you find it for yourself - it is hard to make it an every day action.

We all search for and find an aspect of the truth. Those that search for the whole truth are doomed to failure. If you seek satisfaction in life then whatever the truth is for you is sufficent.

... I sometimes feel like the only time I get relief is when I sit down and force myself to NOT think.

I only wish I could let other people listen to these thoughts, because it's really frustrating to come to a realization and not have anyone there who wants to even try and understand it.

But yeah, I think the first truth I discovered is that there is no truth.

yes, and no...

i search for the "truth" because i believe that to a certain degree the "truth" would lead to my happiness; however, my object in life isn't necessarily the "truth." more than anything, i am seeking happiness; "truth" is a means to that end...
