Okay, I can see where all of you come from on this. I'm an avid manga (anime) reader, as well as a Bazooka Joe, Archie and Jughead, and all of those other types of comics. I do also read marvel and DC comics. To me, it doesn't really matter. Anime has very good action and fight scenes, as well as some of the funniest stuff I've seen. Marvel and DC is where I go to for the good action American comics. Then there's Jughead, some of the finest american comedy comics I've ever read. It's all about what you like, whether it's Japanese made or not, it's still a comic either way. Think about that.

I don't really like anime so much anymore, but I do like reading manga. Crayon Shinchan, What's Michael, are funny stuff.

But I love Archie. The problem is that Archie double digests are like 4 or 5 dollars now, and they only have a few new stories in the digests anyways. Most of the stories are obviously from the 70s or 80s (which I like, cuz I think their artists now are kinda wonky).

Plus everytime I read about Archie Comics, they're suing someone for name copyright violation or sumtin. They don't really have that family friendly feel anymore (for me, anyways).

So I mostly just buy Archies at used book stores now. Haha, great bathroom fodder.

I used to be an Archie fanatic! Then I grew out of it. Also, I don't really like manga that much, but I do enjoy anime. Also, the best comic books that I ever read were from Marvel.

America is too slow in recognizing that mediums are just that, and animated things can be made for adults too. The mainstream american experiment in animated movies geared for adults ended with Fantasia. This continues with computer generated movies. Final Fantasy Advent Children beats the tar out of anything made by an american studio, including the Incredibles, which I thought was... well, incredible.

But there are some cool american comics. X-men, Batman, not really made for kids. Are you talking about anime (japanese animation) or manga (japanese comics)?

Just because anime is big does not mean the others are gone.

I OWN a comic store and we sell very very little anime.

I agree, anime is the worst cr*p I've ever seen for animation.....I like the old, real comic books.

yeah. I think anime kinda sucks. The stories aren't that original and all the girl characters always have big boobs and are standing on the sidelines. Are there ever any anime girls that fight with the guys and kick some ***?
